A) Surface tension measurement
1. Standard test ink kit
Standard SOFTAL test ink kit, blue, for measuring the surface tension of PE and PP film
per DIN 53 364. The kit consists of a box with 12 glass bottles, each 30 ml, with standard
values: 34 - 36 - 38 - 39 - 40 - 42 - 44 -46 - 48 - 50 - 52 and 56 mN/m (dyne/cm)
2. Single bottles of test ink
a) as in standard kit
Single bottles containing either 30 ml or 100 ml.
b) Other values:
30 - 32 - 54 - 60 - 64 - 68 - 72 mN/m (dyne/cm)
3. Test pens
Test pens are only available in 38 mN/m. The test ink is red. Pens are delivered in boxes
of 10.
Note!!
All other surface tension values (mN/m) cannot be measured using test pens due to their
composition. Improper use of the pens may lead to considerable production losses!!
